Hi Nick did you do the Pilsudski then? Im going out to it tomorrow so would love a quick vis report. We got 6m on saturday and 5-6m on sunday but not out as far. Thanks Ivon.

Divers were: Friday night (9.45pm) Grangemouth II : night dive but 6-10m viz (i.e. as good as your torch) Saturday (1pm) Friesland : 3-4m Saturday (8pm) Anna B : 4-6m Sunday (5.45AM!!!!!!!!) : LV-83 (Lightship) : 10m All dives were "bitty" going down the shot with probably no more than 3-4m viz. The difference was when you got within 10m of the bottom...

I seem to remember that the Pilsudski is 8 (or is that 18miles?) NW of the lightship, so on the basis that the Friesland and LV-83 were "similar", you might get reasonable viz on the Pilsudski - or were we just lucky???

I thought you was going to do the Pilsudski as your first dive, there was about 6m on saturday on there so should be better after this weather.

1. We were meant to do the pilsudski on the way out, but Dock Gate times allied to slack over the pilsudski made the Grangemouth II a better option (and a better dive anyway) 2. The Ocean Dancer is Panamanian registered 3. The Ocean Dancer is chartered for (say) 6months of the year for "projects". I think we were the 1st "dive group" that took her out as a dive charter 4. In 6 weeks time they'll be bringing her back from Whitby to Grimsby and spending 3/4 days diving East Coast wrecks on the way back - currently a "few" places remaining 5. Yes, you can charter her - I believe the "one off" day rate is £1500 per day, with discounts for long(er) charters. We're certainly looking at a 1week (possibly) 2week charter for next year... 6. Yes, we were somehere in the Norfolk direction - inshore slightly of two gas fields. Sorry, didn't look at the charts

Not very often I get the chance to read through these pages, but I like to trawl through posts Yorkshire coast related when I'm home... Back in the late eighties when the engine on Grangemouth was still stood upright, a bunch of us who dived together looked at a wreck north of Amethyst development field, the engine, condenser and pump assemblys were nigh on identical to Grangemouth, we didn't and still don't know the name of the wreck so it got tagged Grangemouth II or Grangey II..One of those lads is now one of the Owner/skippers of 'Ocean Dancer' ..It is miles away from the wreck off Withernsea.. Hope this helps clear up a misunderstanding.. Sleep easy Ray they're not poaching your wrecks.....
