Sharm re visited

OK, I know I said I wouldn't go back in a hurry but Explorers were doing a BOGOF deal on trips to Ocean Club including the diving if you could travel that week. The end result was SWMBO and I got a weeks diving and change from £500! Cancelled all the appontments in the diary for the week and flew out three days later.

Air temp was 40C and water temp was 24C. We had 5mm shorties and a rash vest but by the end of the week we were feeling the chill.....you do aclimatize though don't you. We did the usual sites and things were starting to get busy fish wise around shark reef. If I've got it right there should be some images in this report....first attempt at posting pictures.

I know I was less than complementary about our hosts on my last trip but they have redeemed themselves. It's still very busy out there and on some days the boat was a little too crowded for mine and other divers liking but you forget all that once in the water. We had a week with Doozer guiding who I can not big up enough....he's a great guide and good company as well.

He made a great find one day, finning along at 20m or so by Yollander reef a boat passed over head. A few seconds later I see Doozer finning like crazy and then he appeared to snatch at something in the water. Turns out someone had lost their sunglasses overboard as we were underneath them, Doozer obliged the photographers by removing mask and putting the glasses on.

We had 14 dives over 5 days.....a good week by anyones standards. I know I said it last time and I'll probably say it again.....although we enjoyed ourselves we won't go back in a hurry. I think (as per advice of other YDers) we'll try a live aboard in the South
