| Davey mate, Good, true, honest 'learning' experiences are never out of date mate - you visited the abyss, controlled the fear and came back: and good on yer for it! Other divers learn from experiences like this as sure a 5 years olds learn to read from teachers. However, one thing I don't think I can ever forgive your is this: Quote:
Takes balls to recount a story like this squire - doubly so in such lucid terms. Thanks - I benefitted from it, as, I'm sure did others.

| Good report (even though it's a few years ago) I didn't see the original, and it's certainly something that makes me take stock a bit. Personally, I intend to take air down to 40 still. I've never felt what you describe, but I respect your honesty and it's probably talked me out of that being 45. Maybe. It's certainly an article I'd like for a lot of our trainees/depth junkies to read, could really change some attitudes I reckon. Digs. |

| Digger mate, I did 74 metres on air off a single allie-80 - it's NOT something I want to repeat any time soon squire. The 'what-ifs' are just too myriad and only compounded by your attempts to examine your 'options', given depth, mix, need-to-do cirteria. Putting yourself in a situation where possible panic/stress/uncertainty/perhaps-not-having-a-Scooby/finding yourself under the curve/what do I do next - being narked out of your suede - is not something you want to go chasing. But you know that. Take it easy man and see ya soon. Actually, we NEED to teach the masses just how to cook a decent curry! Your rececipe or mine?

Hmmmmmm... I'm willing to wager the source of these 'entries'. Webster's, perchance? A 'dove' is a form of bird, often associated with peace - there being no past participle of the verb 'to dive' rendered 'dove' (dived) Present those buttocks! Skinny or otherwise

| OK... how about this one then As I live in fear of presenting my buttocks to you for any reason whatsoever Bren, although good mates, I feel we shall never be that close, I therefore felt inclined to look to the Oxford English Dictionary for salvation. Please see Dove (2) dove(1) n. 1. any bird of the family Columbidae, with short legs, small head, and large breast. 2. a gentle or innocent person. 3. Polit. an advocate of peace or peaceful policies (cf. HAWK(1)). 4. (Dove) Relig. a representation of the Holy Spirit (John 1:32). 5. a soft grey colour. dove's-foot a cranesbill, Geranium molle. dove-tree a tree with dovelike flowers, Davidia involucrata, native to China. dovelike adj. [ME f. ON d£fa f. Gmc]dove(2) US Past and past part. of DIVE. One more I shall pull up my shorts and be on my way... |

And that's my point - you seek salvation in the American and not the British rendering. 'Dived' must have been too long a participle for them - so they just made one up! DOWN WITH THOSE TWEEDS! ('pro'actively') PREEEE-ZENT BUTTOCKS!
