| Scapa Gig 2 - MV Invincible Due to the report being prepared by Garf, here's just a couple of lines to say what a great week it was. Personally, I missed two of the big 7, the Markgraf and the Kronprinz Willhelm due to getting a cold early in the week and feeling like absolute cack for a couple of days, and still do. Managed to get a total of 8 dives done in the end which was far better than I was expecting early in the week, culminating in a great dive on the Brummer Friday afternoon. The dives were awesome and will be described in detail in Garf's report. Due to being ill, and nominated temporary deck bitch, I managed to get some great photos of the guys in full No 1's pre and post dive, which will be posted also, hopefully. The Invincible and her crew of Ian and Fiona had their shit firmly squared away. The boat was great. Recommendations and praise abound have already been heaped upon them, totally justified. The Islands were just stunning and the people friendly and most of them new Cameron from Big Brother! I believe my deco diving moved on a stage (pun not intended), but not as much as I would have liked due to missing the deeper Markgraf, but progress indeed, and I'm happy with my lot. Have a feeling of unfinished business which I aim to rectify next year. From a personal point of view I found the whole experience of diving these magnificent historical war machines, coupled with the visit to the Cemetary on Lyness a very moving one. One I will never forget. For that I would like to say a huge thank you to Garf, Roy, Mary, Paul, Chris, Roger, Gareth, Julian, Paul D, Karin and Andy for a tremendous week and for making it so memorable. There was really only one downside for me, I wasn't happy about finding out that YD laminates had been left on shotlines or the wrecks or whatever. As an ex matelot I found this to show a total lack of respect. The Stanegarth yes, but the German High Seas Fleet? Before anyone has a go at me again, this is just my opinion. When the main report appears I'm sure we will all add our own comments then. Had a monster drive home yesterday/this morning and I'm knackered. Also, when I sit still I feel as though I'm swaying.. All the best, Ian

| I was diving the same week as you guys but on the John L. I was the only lady amongst 8 truly great guys and without one of them would have pulled out the trip. I got 10 dives out of the week the worst was the Gobendor Bories and that was the first YD sign I saw it tested me to the limits ( without that sign I might have binned it earlier it gave me the will to carry on ) not quite on the slack and 12 minutes of nothing Alton Towres could ever offer. My most memorable dive was 2 days later on the Tarbarka same place the block ships and what a totally awesome dive it just took my breath away. The Brummer was another, I had the pleasure of a seal with that dive truly magical experince. I'm no longer a Scapa Virgin wish I had spoken to Air Assisted and Juz I saw you both on Lyness I'm just not that pushy, if your both at Stoney in Febuary will join you for a cold one, hope you do it with Chris Hall in mind, MND is a cause close to my heart but I'm not doing the BBQ this time, I did it in 2004. will donate to a raffle though. I totally respect the wrecks I dived on I took nothing form them only memories. James from the John L a big thank you for getting me back on the boat, what a great skipper and man mountain all in one, Roy my buddy for being there for me always and Sven I hope one day my son turns out to be the diver that you are. And finally Sean without you I wouldn't be diving today. I had wings but until I was pushed I didnt learn to dive. Be safe always
