I have NO idea - i did prod it and it didnt move (to the point i thought it was dead), but no, a quick wiggle and it settled back down in the hole. It was quite big at around 8-10 inches and found in around 10m if that helps.

Well my best guess is a Short-spined sea scorpion (Bull rout) which is almost certain to be wrong
