Went for a quick pootle in Dorothea on Sunday, mainly to have a look around and practice a few skills. Viz was pants in places, cleared up when you went a bit deeper. the 9meter shelf was like a warm bath doing stops!

A 'local' family appeared at the end of the day telling us about all the poeple that had died and how diving was banned and I should go and have a look in the graveyard for the grave of a diver. The lady of the group pointed at my cylinders and asked if that meant I did not have to hold my breath for as long.

Must admit that they were about the strangest lot I've come accross. Mind you the 12 year old with them was trying not to think it was all well cool!

Strange pople those from Nantell , stay away on a full moon.

Obviously it is a local quarry, for local people (said in a haunting welsh accent).......

It was a bit league of gentlemenesque, even the old pumphouse from the right angle could be mistaken for the 'local shop'.

Holding your breath is only ok past 40 meters

My Mum and Dad live there. From the quarry turn right towards Talysarn, you pass the large house set in the field and then on the right a row of three cottages with their backs to the road. That's them.

They're not local, mind. Moved there a few years ago form over Harlech way, you know. Outsiders.

If you think thats odd, you should pop in the Halfway for a deco pint, in talysarn. The Quellyn arms on the other hand is just crap.

The farmer who has grazing rights at dorrie used to drive around in a ratty white van and was very friendly toward divers, he used to stop and chat regularly. His usuall topic was slagging the previous lease holder!
