Trailblazing near the Frockner.

For anyone who saw my Friday post which was loosely based on a planned dive on Sat and kind of meandered through Wagner to Pogner to Frogner to FrogOr then back to Frogner and eventually to the Frockner, well here is my non dive report.

Sat saw 5 of us heading out to dive the Frockner. Sadly, one of the 5 was gpoin to be keeping the Bush Kangaroo company as he had decided not to bring his dry suit!!! It was a 'touch breezy' and it was a 'touch lumpy'. Note to all - do not kneel down in such circumstances to tie down someone else's cylinders as knees are not ideal things to use for landing back on a flying RHIB! Please don't worry - I can almost walk properly again!

Anyway, unlike my normal dive routine where I am the last one into the sea, I was first over the side. I dropped straight down the shot and waited for Colin (Colinicky) to follow me down. The shot was in what I thought was the/a scour but, apparently, was next to the wreck but where sand had piled all up the sides of the hull?

Anyway, he duly arrived within a minute and I decided to go and have a look up the other side of the "scour". Colin, having more sense, carried on towards where I had just swam back from to go the other way. It had not particularly been our plan to stick together unless it happened that way. Anyhoo, by the time I decided that there was nothing see where I was going (apart from sand) I was well out of sight of the shot. Obviously with my marvellous sense of direction I blazed a new trail over the sand in totally the wrong direction - FFS! I noted the angle of the ripples in the sand which, sadly, I hadn't done on the outward trip. I sort of hovered around for a bit pondering the fact that if they were nipples in the sand I would have probably paid more attention.

I was already approaching deco (had a 45 mtr EANx mix not used from the week before to use up on a 30 mtr dive) so up went the bag with me following along safely behind. What a marvellous dive I had. Markus said that based on my bubbles I was never more that 10 mtrs away from the wreck. Also, everyone else found the wreck which just proves what lucky gits they are!

One person on the boat sadly lost his Niterider torch (£200+ I believe) whilst getting dekitted before getting in the RHIB.

Back ashore a swift pint of Guinness was required to dull my disappointment.

I would like to make the following statements:-

1) Mr T - this is not a diving post as I could have seen what I saw at low tide on the beach much more cheaply HOWEVER I was sure you would move it so, reluctantly ..........
2) Trailblazer is not a natty pioneer's garment.
3) Colin - you should have put an extra N in your User Name.

In the very remote chance that anyone dives the Frockner (off Eastbourne) and finds a Niterider .... I know the owner!

Thumbs up good viz !

Yes & to cap it all he was only 10 metres from the wreck with 12 metres of viz ! I thought these FFM's had such good vision that you saw a lot more ? lol .
please note the 12metres is the other 3 'divers ' measurement ,this happens to be the only time that Bryan has "under stated" the viz
