| Halfway through the Cancun Trip Hi,
Managed to get some time to do a quick trip report so far, I am into my second week of my cancun holiday and done some good diving upto now.
My First dive was on the C-55 ( Think thats what they called it ) this is a mine sweeper sank as an artificial reef just of the coast of cancun, it has been moved closer in shore from the hurraicane a month ago, the force of it rolled the wreck 500 metres down towards the coast eventually bringing it to a standstill on a lime stone bottom which inturn has broken the wreck into two sections. It lies at 25m on the sea bed and on arrival the viz was that good that i was able to pop my head over the side of the boat with my mask on and see the wreck perfectly. The group was small just two of us plus a guide and it was afree ascent down to the deck of the wreck which i have to say looked pretty impressive. We had a good swim around the outside and half way round you come to the section that has broken and it is here that the engine of the ship in all its glory has rolled out of the broken section onto the sea bed. Loads of fish life barracuda, King crabs, and a friendly turtle that was not camera shy (photos to follow when i get home ). Next was a penetration into the wreck visiting the sleeping quarters the usual toilet still in all its glory. Alot of what used to be there has been removed but with all the ladders and port holes with the light shining through it does make for a good wreck dive. Well i am running out of credit on the internet access and its 95 degrees outside, plus i have to get my equipment ready for the Cenotes tomorrow. Sorry but somebody has got to do it. Will do a full report on my return with photos.
