Hi,I have only just joined this forum but thought i would let you know about my short trip to Malta. We got there on Jan 25 and did two dives a day for 3 days. We stayed at Buggiba and I dived with Buddies. My wife doesn't dive so she managed to spoil herself at the spa treatments all day which left me guilty free to go diving. The people at Buddies were really friendly and i was the only client all the time i was there which made for a really relaxed schedule. The guide was Maltese so i got a guided tour of the island as we drove round to the different sites. We started off diving The Maddonna at Cirkewwa and we were the only ones there. When we came out some other vans had turned up but all had only one client so still really quite. The second dive was at Anchor Bay,also known as popeye village, again we were the only ones there. The sea was dead calm and the viz must have been 20-25m which is great for such a shallow dive (max 10m).Day two was going to be The Blue Grotto but as we arrived we could see the cove was like a big washing machine and exit would have been impossible so it was back to Cirkewwa and Tugboat Rozi followed by the Left Arch. The last day was from Valletta with the first dive being St.Elmo's Reef followed by HMS Maori. All in all it was a great little get-away considering most of the flights and hotel were done on air miles and being just the guide and me was the icing on the cake. We go to Tunisia early March so will do another trip report then.
