Trip Reports Co-ordinates function

Ok, I need to check to see if we have set up the CIES Islands of Spain, and I need to run the cluster code for that area. We are launching something on Travel Dive now, in a few mins which will make this process much more transparent.

Thanks. The islands were mentioned on the map but what you wrote sounds like a computer tech term, and you lost me there

Does this mean if we dive in 'out of place' areas it needs to be coded first?

The Geo Reports functionality on TD works automatically in placing the code on the map, unfortunately we cannot do the same easily to Yorkkshire Divers trip reports since its a different system.

I will make sure your trip report gets on the map.

Thanks. So the YD trip report is independent and totally seperate than the TD? When one writes a report on TD should we then place a link to YD trip report section (or copy & paste?).

Personally I prefer the TD but not sure if it gets half as much usage as the standard YD trip report thread.

Jay and I spent ages trying to work out how to integrate the Travel Dive trip report functionality to Yorkshire Divers, but it seemed more practical to offer people both options.

Travel Dive uses a completel different form of presentation and interaction, so its really upto you how you want to present it. In terms of people reading your reports and the number, its a wider audience, though I would not say less of an audience.

Personally I will do a bit of both, depending on what I am writing about and what media I have collected from a trip. The format and presentation of articles on TD as well as the content has meant that most of the TD writers have been contacted by newspapers or magazines at some point about their articles. This is a way of expanding the format to YDrs.
