Eyemouth Weekend

Thanks all for a great weekend at Eyemouth, diving off North Star which is Marine Quest's hardboat.

Iain is a great skipper and we did some off the beaten track scenics and one wreck (which was the president).

I'm sure the others can write a much better trip report than me so I'll keep it short and sweet and share a couple of pics...

A lesser-spotted Kath2407 under the waves...

And also an Aqua-Foggy;

A bit of an arty shot.

The final roll-call was (in no particular order);
Kath2407
Bouyant Babe
Eeyore
Foggy
John
SimonK
Colin Marriott
Robin Jones
Aquaholic Anke
Triplefin
Pussowl
Bantam

Great to meet everyone - who are all really nice people by the way.

Mark.

Cheers kath2407 for taking over the organisation.

Thanks to Triplefin for buddying me as well.

I don't think we could have asked for better conditions really, dead calm sea, fantastic viz.

Q. Why did the razorbill raise her bill?

A. So the sea urchin could see her chin!

Many thanks to all those who helped me at some point over the weekend coming up the ladder, fins, handing me my camera etc etc. Thanks also to Colin for being my buddy and especially Kath for organising the whole thing.

I tried to get pics of everyone on the boat....but think I failed miserably!

Anyway here are a few

Thumbs up

Thanks to all for the good company and a great weekend.
.. made me wonder if I'd missed some good diving up north over the last few years - viz was just stunning ... but the channel is a tad warmer in summer.

Keep the photos coming (note to self: don't eat bickies when people with candid cameras are about...)
Glad to see no one got a shot of my belly flop exits from the boat and a thousand thanks to Aaron for resecuring my runaway tank when it came off following said belly flop...

Must say that was my main complaint off the boat.. no opening to jump out off in a diginified fashion and a slideslung ladder - both taking top rank on my list of 'must avoid features' on a hardboat. Otherwise both boat and skippers where top class.

Anke

Tis alright Anke your secrets safe with me no-one shall see said pic!

Having now had a look at the underwater ones I have put a few here to show how good the viz was. As I still havnt had a good sort out of the pics I took last weekend it'll be a while before I can sort these eyemouth ones out. Mind you I changed a lot of settings for saturdays diving (stupidly ) and have had to junk dozens of them ahhhhhhh well you live an learn. The white thingys that look like polysterene bits are nudibranch eggs on a super duper macro setting. Diver is Colin who I was buddying with and its a snake pipefish I'm sure everybody saw loads. I do like taking urchin pics they seem to come out so well and they dont move!!!
