Thanks for posting Stew, sounds like you have a fantastic time. I can't wait for our trip even though it is still 15 months away. ![]() Oh and you must have been really disappointed with the biggest whaleshark being only 12 mtrs ![]() Roll on October 2007, as long as we see whalesharks and schooling hammerheads I will be a very happy diver

We found the Deep Blue as we went to a dive show and went to listen to Maldives scuba tours half hour talk on Galapagos and Cocos. The boat IMHO is very clean and tidy. The food is good, considering where you are in the world. I know food is a big thing to divers and i am as fussy as they come. But there was always something there to eat. We did run out of coke on day 3 which was not so good, but if that is all there is to complain about reagarding food then it isnt that bad. The itinery was not as we had been led to believe though. we were told that we would get a minimum of 3 dives per day when we done land visits and 4 when we were at Darwin and Wolf. We were only offered 1 night dive as well, which I wasnt pleased with as i was hoping for at least 4 in 10 days. The boats sun decks are very good though for you sun worshippers. The ribs "pangas" are very high out of the water and are quite hard work in big swell. But as a score out of ten i would give it 7 1/2. would i book again on the Deep Blue, of course.

THIS HAS BEEN EDITED We flew with AA which had good leg room and luggage allowances. The food was crap and so was the movies. We had stop a connecting flight in Miami, which we only just managed to get. When we landed in Miami it was during a lightening storm and no one works in lightening storms in Miami airport so we had to wait on the runway for 2 1/2 hours after landing for the lightening to stop. The flights in Ecuador were excellent and all the luggage was taken care by people from the Deep Blue agency. No one had to pay any excess even though we were all well over the limit. The women who had her cases lost flew with CONTINENTAL Some guys who were on the Deep Blue with us actually see her bags being removed from the plane before take off. The noticed the Maldives Scuba Tours luggage labels on them and knew it would be one of our group. Some of the group had there security locks cut from their luggage, not just the locks were being cut though. Zips were being cut so you would not be able to use them for padlocking again. When we go back we will not fly through the US we will go via Madrid and pay the extra for excess luggage. To be honest the airport at Miami is a total joke. No one speaks English, nor American. ( if thats a language) Immigration is a joke, and very long winded. I would suggest that you do not do a stop over im Miami either. We had 2 nights in Miami at the end of the holiday to chill out. We stayed at south beach Miami which is the posers capital of the world. We were on ocean drive and all you had all night was the sound of £100,000 cars going past with their stereos full pout. Drinks were expensive as well. $9 for a small bottle of bud and $9 for a very small rose wine. If you do have to stop, stop at Quito. Apart from the airport crap you are in for a wonderful time. I am saving already for our return. Last edited by samui13 : 21-06-06 at 01:17 PM.
