Stoney, Thursday 29th June

OK, no-one else started a thread so here I go. Deep breath...

I don't recall everyone who turned up but here were a few of us:

Me (of-course)
Lisa (LisaR)
Jim Shaw
Dawn (Barnsley Crab)
Simon (Morphs)
Nick (Nicko)
Ratcliffe (No, not "Mr" Ratcliffe)
Andy Pandy
Chris (Prometheus)
Recurve
Da Smudge Miester (Last but by certainly no means least )

Now, there were others but I've got a crap memory for names so apologies guys, I'll recognise you but probably call you Fred or John

Simon and I decided to wander over to the Cessna and had a really gentle relaxed dive and I for one was amazed at exactly how far round the cove we actually got before I had yet another SMB "issue". Yeah, line got snagged, cut and bouy retrieved but Simon saved the day by throwing his up showing me how to do a near perfect mid-water deployment. I'm still wondering if he sabotaged my reel's line just so he could show off.

Oh, and before someone else mentions it I better say we didn't actually find the Cessna, but that WAS actually part of our plan. Words to the effect of "So, if we miss the cessna I'm not really bothered because I'll be getting a dive in anyway. Simon seemed OK with this plan so off we went to the sunken bouy and down to 20 odd metres.

We actually ended up circumnavigating the pit wall at about 22-23 Metres all the way round (well, I did, I believe Simon was inspecting some rather interesting rock formations on the wall a couple of metres below me). He WAS making some pretty bubbles though I must say.

The scene was very serene, clouds of silt hanging mid-water only added to the feel of the dive, very calming and almost worthy of a photo.

So, SMB retrieved, our usual "short" surface swim from the south wall and off for a brew.

Anyone else care to tell us about their antics today...? I hear someone may have had an issue with their 1st stage being a little "tight" to undue...? Don't recall who though, maybe you caught their name Jim...?

You missed off Prometheus (Chris) and Andy Pandy.

Thanks to everyone for the fun and dives today, I had a great time. Good to meet you all, most of you for the first time.
Still gobsmacked that we actually found the Cessna! Acouple of good dives.

And the surface interval was great, Chris you can come (with your guitar) again
