Cyprus

Just got back from a nice break in Cyprus, very hot though Vytec was reading 42C in the shade!!!!

Anyway I stayed in the North West of the island near a small fishing village called Latchi, if you are planning any diving in that area I recommend Latchi Watersports (ask for Craig), good bunch, fair, fun, safe and even gave me a number of another dive operator in Larnaca (Zenobia) when I said I wanted to drive over there myself. (2 hour drive)

Vis was very good 30m+ water was warm.

That brings me to the other dive operator that was recommended to me by Latchi Watersports, Dive In Cyprus based in Larnaca. Chris, the boss, is very friendly and knows the Zenobia inside out. They are also based very close to the working fishing harbour and not the main harbour and Larnaca so you have a shorter boat ride out there.

Anyway it was refreshing to go away and dive with two really good operators.

Oh yeah the Zenobia is awesome, if you haven't done it you should put it on your list of dives to do. Best diving I have ever done, biggest wreck I have ever seen!!! We were down once and a submarine came cruising past, massive thing, very james bond. Its an ex-russian army sub converted to take non divers down to see the wreck. Not many people can say they have dived alongside a working submarine!!

Latchi Watersports are excellent and Craig White is a top bloke.
(I bet you dived St Georges Island a few times though)

He taught both of my daughters.

Last Saturday I was diving the Zenobia - and what a Dive!!!!

When did you go?

Vis was excellent and what a wreck!!!

Saw the submarine as well.....

I went with Divers Unlimited From Protaras and I would reccomend them without hesitation - very safe and professional.

Last time I dived the Zenobia I was going across the top of the wreck at around 18m on my way towards a nice 17 min deco stop and I had to wait for the sub to pass as it was so closs to the wreck.
It was a totally sureal situation, fun though.
