Sardine Run Report - June 2006

hi all

I have put an expedition report up for the first week of our Sardine Run expedition to South Africa for this year

Not wanting to use up bandwidth unduly by publishing it in multiple places, it can be read at:

Shark Safaris: The Sardine Run

we'll be arranging another one for next year, if anyone is interested...

cheers
Rob

great report and keep us posted when you start planning next year - just need to convince mr price - yet again - that sharks are not dangerous...

would love to come along... thumbs up must have been fantastic...

thanks for your replies!

it really was the most wonderful week - but then it always is! We have been running the trip for 5 years and even on the 'quiet' year in 2003 (i.e. no sardines!) we still had thousands of dolphins, sharks, whales breaching around the boat - and even orcas!!

that said, the week before in Cape Town with rare (ish) 7 gill cow sharks, and the week after on the tiger shark expedition were both superb, too! It's a tough life!

The prices are good because we run the expeditions on a not-for-profit basis, so are able to organise and deliver the expeditions at cost. We just believe that spreading the word about sharks is more important than a little short-term profit and will ultimately assist in their conservation.

The details for next year's trips are available so let me know if you need any more info re dates, prices, etc.

happy shark diving!
Rob
