Gran Canaria (pt1)

I ended up in Gran Canaria on a ‘rescue mission’ – mother-in-law had fallen and broken her femur and father-in-law needed looking after whilst she was in hospital. I only got chance for 4 dives. I went with Dive Academy Gran Canaria, they were very pleasant and helpful. Dave & Ellen own the business, with Leon as an Instructor (PADI & SSI) & guide – he is friendly and eco sensitive (gave me a bollocking for kneeling whilst taking a photo in the Marine Reserve!). They are based in Arguineguin and I would recommend them for all levels of divers, they even have their own private pool for instruction.

Dives 1 & 2
Were off a rib, about 10 minutes out of the port of Arguineguin. Rib was equipped with O2 & first aid, radio, sat nav, mobile….
Dive 1 - Pasito Blanco reef starts at 11m and slopes away to 23m.

Dive 2 - El Pajar Wreck This is the wreck of a Russian hydrofoil ferry which sank in 2003. She sits upright at a depth of 18m and is a length of 30m.

… ctd..
