A first

Had my first experience of a salt water dive being affected due to sea conditions and it is so disapointing. A large crowd of us from my dive club booked camping space over in Anglesey for the weekend. Those that were there early enough on the Saturday managed to dive the wreck of Lady Meath. The next day the sea was looking a tad rougher but apparently it was still "doable". Not by me it wasnt! I rolled off the rhib at the shout of go and totally missed the shot line. Its the first time I have dived in mushy green peas type liquid and not a pleasant experience I must say. A couple of the more experienced divers managed to get down to the wreck but came back up stating how disapointing it was due to the poor viz.
We then decided to try Holyhead Harbour which was calm and peaceful with slightly better viz but too shallow with not much to see.

Sunday we just played on the rhibs. Anyone for Kneeboarding??
Still a good weekend with lots of diving stories being shared. Hopefully the next time the seas will be kinder to us.

A follow on from previous thread

I seem to have got salt water bug since Swanage trip. As stated above the diving was blown out at Anglesey but these are the following dives I have planned and dates. I'd appreciate if those that have dived these sites at similar time of the year could give me their views on viz, likelihood of diving happening or being blown out, pubs etc.
sept 15th Medas Islands - Spain 10 boat dives planned
Sept 30th St Abbs - 2 boat dives 4 shore dives planned
Oct 29th Loch Fynne 6 dives planned

Many Thanks
Yaz

We will be using the club rhibs and apparently there is a nice place where u slip (is that what you do with boats) from the caravan park??? You might know it better then I do. I know we will be doing Furnace Quarry again and we wont be doing the place at the tea rooms but thats all i do know.
So rain wouldnt affect viz too much?
Yaz

What about the gnomes? ARe they the same sort as in Capernwray?
