Ellerton Park

Hi all,

Had my first dip in Ellerton Park yesterday to check out my new 7mm semi-dry (sick of those sweaty drysuit summer days) and the shore dives on the northeast being blown out.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, while it doesn't have the depth (10 metres tops) or underwater attractions and facilities of say Capernray or the NDC it still has modern and clean toilets, showers and changing rooms.
I also found the kitting up benchs very handy and the walking distance to the entry point/platform was very short (always a plus)
The attractions included a couple of cars, boat, caravan with ironing board and iron
Viz was 3 metres on the day, which I take is good due to the reaction of another diver when I told him, which was "Yippee I'll be able to see my fins for a change!"
While there's no air fills on site or any sign of a burger van, I would say it's a ideal place for testing new kit.
But I mainly recommend it because it's £4 per diver for the day paid to lady in Ellerton Park landrover in the carpark

Yes its a good place for practice, not much depth, but your certain to get very changeable viz and very cold temps in the winter, Lowest I've had was 1 Deg C

We had something similar last December. Snowing on the surface, freezing in the water - not sure which was the warmest
