xyz saw the sea in a book once
They are incredibly beautiful when they sit opened up like this. Sometimes you have to be very patient and sit still until they do it, if your lucky you come across them just sitting like this on the sea bed. Water movement near them will often make them shut their shells tightly and you have to wait for them to open up again. These particular ones were very comical as every now and then they would suddenly 'take off' making little clouds of sand and silt before coming to rest again so I had to be quite patient.
Fortunately the 'yellow box boys' were far away collecting the ones at about 40m so these guys are still happily sitting in the sand in the sound

Jane,

Your pics are very nice :-)

BTW ALL I should explain the extra £5 that was requested when you paid for your air. This trip was initially booked by Fiona last year. Since then, as we all know., fuel prices have gone through the roof. Lochaline dive charters have subsequently upped their prices to compensate. When I went to pay Alan he told me the new rate £310 but offered to honour the original £270 but also asked if we could split the difference. This worked out at £5 per head extra. Alan mentioned that he wouldnt be offended if anybody wasnt willing to pay the extra £5. I hope this didnt piss anybody off at the end of a fabby weekend.

BTW I have provisionally booked the same weekend for next year!

Chris
