zebra shark encounter

what a great way to start my first thread on y d. went diving in phuket yesterday starting with a 3 dive day. king cruiser, koh doc mai & shark point.
king cruiser is a pretty nice dive site with viz from 10-15 meters, moderate to strong current. yesterday was to say the least STRONG. most of the superstructor has collapesed but there r still some nice penetration points with big schools of travelly's & jacks as well as other marine life. DIVE 2 shark point. the best of all 3. negative entry in strong current. very large dive site, a sort of go with the flow dive site, taking cover from the current from time to time. 7 lionfish sharing the same cover hole OOPS, with a zebra shark sleeping on the sand. i take a left around the rock after kicking into the current and not going anywhere fast, my buddy & i have a 10 min encounter with yet another zebra shark who really didnt care as to why we were there but really seemed to like the colour of my reel and bumped it twice (ive never been 1 who touches any marine life ) but this fella seemed to enjoy our company brushing against us many times. curious (maybe)
hungry (possibly lol) now its time to come up.. DIVE 3. wall dive koh doc mai. makes a nice drift dive max depth 22 meters. lionfish. stone fish. morays triggerfish. ect. anyway a greta days diving none the less

thanks for that

and as i look out of my window in Devon England it's raining. The red sea a month ago is starting to fade, i'm due to dive next weekend but it's been raining and blowing up for the last few weeks so if it's diveable the vis will be crap and it'll be cold. Oh and i spent yesterday at work..

Have a green for a nice little trip reportlett and for reminding me that no matter how miserabe it is here somewhere in the world it's better

Dave
