!! Another great day at stoney !!

mine and zepps and andy,s stoney dives !!!

After meeting early am we headed down into the car park at 7 am at which point we kitted up and worked out our dive plan which pretty much entailed following me along the pit !!

jay was testing equiptment as was i,as im still getting used to the twin set with a stage !
also a good old friend of mine andy linstead also decided to join us as his buddy had let him down !

anyway dive 1 we headed over the cliff to 21 metres at which point we headed over the cliff again to the 35 metre bit !! along the edge of the pit we went until we got to the far end and decided to ascend back to 21 metres after about 20 minutes down the hole !!!
the viz has improved no end at stoney in the last 3 weeks and is ever increasingly getting better !!!
after only a few moments we got to the staingarth we had a little hover their watching the students doing skills around the wreck which is always nice to see!!! then onto the north cliff and then ascended by the side of the white nissan van!!!

a very nice dive and very enjoyable !!

dive 2: we headed over the cliff to 22 metres where we spent about 35 minutes just swimming along gently by the cliff wall !! then we turned round and headed back to the bent pole at 21 metres on the road and headed up to the cockpit and did our stops and then out !!
jay mannaged to have a good day testing his kit and i mannaged to nail my shut downs and moving mi stages around which i enjoyed!!!
a nice days diving with 2 good friends and now cant wait for next weekend when i can dive with silvafish and her twinset at capernwray !!! best wishes leigh

me sat on the aqauzepp

with with just too much kit lol!!!

whilst queing in the carpark waiting for the gates to open, do you remember a green jaguar x-type parked next to you with two very nervous looking people in it?

that was the missus and i !!

i wish we knew it was you, we would of said hello.

it was our first "real dive" - we had done lots of pool dives but this was our first in non-chlorinated water.
i had a fantastic day but the missus didnt get wet, first the guage hose bulged so we replaced it then her inflator stuck open whilst doing the buddy checks so she called her dives off .

it was the first of many, many trips to stoney

i am doing the bsac ocean diver exam paper with my club on thursday, i hope to get all the bits done ASAP so i can go and practice as much as work will allow.

(my instructor said that i must be a natural as it was the first proper dive and i had a twinset, wing and drysuit but i found no problems with bouyancy whatsoever and according to my vyper the first dive i had an SAC of 17.5slm and on the second dive where we did buddy breathing and buddy rescue lifts from 11m ihad an SAC of 25slm)

I would suggest rather than him rushing to play with "toys" he gets used to diving the kit he has bought first, that is some kit for your first OW dive.

But I suppose your instructor knows best.
