Deco dancing in Dosthill

Well, I know it's not quite Tenerife, The Red Sea, Stoney with the men in black or anywhere else exotic but on Saturday four friends got together and went for a dive in Tamworth, well more of a piss about and a pootle.

Now, I know some of you will have seen Mick (Harlequin) before but it's been a while since he was last in the country as he's been on a DM internship in Tenerife, so as a bit of a welcome home we thought a cold quarry would do just the trick.

Richie had arrived before me - the teams obligatory man in black, I was followed by Andy (not on YD) and Mick got a little mis-located even with the joys of Sat-Nav. Bottles were filled, bladders were emptied and large splashes were made - I won't bore with dive details but suffice to say it was a fantastic day as well, lovely and sunny the vis was the best I've ever seen it in there, the water temp was a tropical 12 and the sight of Mick pole dancing his way through the safety stop, doing superman impressions on dive 2, boxing the concrete counterweights and generally being Mick was a little bit unnerving as I thought he was Ox-Toxing

Cheers chaps, once again it was an absolute pleasure.

Mick saying, Blimey look at the vis!

I surrender

Did Andy play one of the "Tefalmen" in the TV adverts by any chance?

Yup - a good couple of dives, Dost has nearly redeemed itself.

Good company, viz and weather. Nice and empty- mild entertainment from a RD course. If it wasn't a course someone was in trouble.

Crowning glory was being asked if I minded having 4 rashers in the sarnie 'cos he'd cooked too much. I did complain but helped him out in the end.

Reminder - must get the black paint on those orange bits

Bit over kitted for Dost as well...................

Stage was full of 50% and is due O2 cleaning as is the reg so I thought I'd just get rid of it.

It's all practise for the "real" thing anyway innit?

Quote of the day had to be from Richie. To set the scene we were passing the rescue diver trainees whilst carrying twins on our backs and stages by the valves...

me: "do we really need all this kit?"
Richie: "well, I do as I have a black drysuit"

It made me chuckle anyway

Glad you all enjoyed the dives
