Talking Puddle diving 31st Dec

Not a big report. Having been alerted to the half day closing I arrived at about 7.30 and found spaces in the lower car park. Bill arrived about ten minutes later and then I spotted Robert(Dotty Diver) wandering around the car park. Then I was approached by Andy so that made a foursome. That probably breaks PADI/TDI/BSAC/DIR rules (oops guidelines) so looked like a good end to the year.
By chance I was parked next to some very dodgy people using silver doom boxes discussing gnome gardens. This turned out to be Lesley and Leigh. So now we had three YD cars next to each other.
A dive plan was formed with me apparently doing some navigating. Now Robert knows my skill here. Others merely mock. Andy and Bill need to do more research , but by sheer fluke we found our way to helicopter, tug, coach and back to the road. Impressed with my skills I let Andy lead the second dive. The pike were out in style today, decent viz.
Oh yes and Ratty turned up, late, with nearly empty cylinders. "Doing a weight check," what tosh.

Nice report Ian, but what is the 'power car park'? Is this exclusive parking for executive bean counters

Power car parks

These are available to divers that are (or should be ) committed. See also Swanage Pier parking.

Thanks again for a nice couple of dives. All good practice for me at this embryonic stage of my diving. Next time I'm at Stoney it will be time for me to find some of the landmarks myself now I've been to them a few times.

Bill
