Was really great Fi to be away at this time of year to do something different than the same old routine of seeing the new year in...I would definately do it again. We were really lucky to have a great group of people on the boat with no-one who peed us off with their underwater tactics...

Won't be long now

Moving on from the bunch of great people we had on our boat. It's a shame that there were a few on Whirlwind that couldn't keep their hands to themselves.
I noticed something that I didn't agree with and took action by prodding a ginger haired large lady, wearing an old stylee face mask (from the 70's)!!
She and her 'buddy' were trying to look under a coral growth, he wasn't doing too bad on the bouyancy side, but she was all over, in fact she was grabbing hold of the coral.
I voiced my concerns. It was rather blue, should've seen her face. Shite herself. It then appeared that she was going to give me a mouthful back, but remembered that you can't breath once you take your reg out. LARGE GINGER HAIRED TW*T.
Dave (Happychappy) you might know who these two plonkas are?

Rant over folks. But please remember, take with you only memories, not half the coral growth!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gary

Know exactly who they are and plenty of our party had words with the guides about this behaviour during the week, the guides had words on our behalf, at one point the guides banned them from taking in a camera and the guides brought said lady diver along participate in a PPB dive / course I was doing.

The " Buddy " doubled his amount of dives during the week and done his AOW on the trip. Must admit I was surprised on the first day when he said how few dives he had done as I thought you needed 50 dives minimal to book onto one of these boats.

The Buddy concept was worrying with that particular pair as they tended to always be one above the other or no where near each other.

Its a shame the lady dived like this as they are a real nice couple.

Nice to meet you though Gary

Davie.

Great report Kathy,

Iwas on Typhoon in the first week of December and had agreat time on the Brothers Wreck Special tour. The guides where the same that you had and they made sure we had a great time.

Unfortunately one guy on the trip was running a Rebreather TRimix course and insisting on naming Juan and Micky as Juan "Norfolk" and Micky "Good", referring to them as "Norfolk & Good". After this started to grate, he changed to Juan "Kerr", which Juan didnt understand until somebody explained it to him. All a bit juvenile really.

Other than that I would definately book again with Tony Backhurst.

Davie.
Had the same on a Southern liveaboard last year - woman with 6 dives. She came with a group of men who had a couple of hundred each, though. Even so, it meant that one of the guides has to be completely dedicated to her throughout the week.

What also surprised me was the complete lack of any attempt to sell her an AOW course, or indeed sell any course to any of the rest of us. I would have thought that Emperor are missing a trick there.
