| 1st sea dive this weekend saw me loose my sea virginity! after pootling around stoney cove for litterally the 20th time i figured i was ready to dive in the sea and i did have to pick up my new AL80 from plymouth so 2 birds with 1 stone! 488 mile round trip does seem a bit much but i would of done twice that if i had known how great the dive was going to be!! After work on saturday i loaded the car and set off, 3 1/2 hours later saw me pulling upto the hotel, kit dumped and phone call to the missus (she had to work this weekend) and i was in the pub for a quick couple of guiness's - only a couple though as i was knackered! then it happened, my buddy phoned me to say the dives were off due to the crap viz - NOOOOOO!! i resisted the urge to drown my sorrows in the pub, glad i did as we decided to do a shore dive instead of the scylla. after a slap up full english i met my buddy at the dive shop and we discussed what was going to happen. it sounded good to me - anything that involved donning my tanks and getting wet sounded good! we mad our way to the shore, the sea was a little rough but the sun was blazing down and i felt very much at ease with my buddy, he said it was my call if we did the dive, he was ok either way - i suggested we try it and we kitted up. a short while later we were in and straight away i was amazed at the lack of shock when jumping in - well i am used to the near arctic waters known as stoney cove!! we went under and i just couldnt believe the life there! crabs, fish, scollops, anenomies, dog welks (i think thats what they were) - i could go on for ever!! after 35mins we decided that we should go up and grab some food, the exit was a little undignified as i had picked a less than perfect exit point - not something i had to think about at stoney cove! for me it was the best dive of my life - i'm sure my buddy felt it could of been better as the viz was very poor and the sea was a little rough. not only did i have the best dive i have ever had but i also buddied up with our very own Milldog - he is a fantastic fella, i hope to dive with you again very soon. thank you for a great weekend- i loved every second of it and i learnt so much about myself and diving. i think milldog deserves a green just for putting up with me!!

in my short while training to dive i have seen an awfull lot - not diving but divers attitudes. there are a few divers that i have met that i have huge respect for, they have taught me so much and asked for nothing in return. if they need anything, i will be there to offer anything i can - you graham, are another one of those divers. thanks again m8
