| This year I decided to give LIDS a miss and go for a dive instead, especially when I looked in my log book and saw that it had been six months since my last dive I arrived at the site about 15 min before it opened and was expecting to have to queue but I drove straight in and was about the fifth car there, my theory about everyone being at LIDS looked like it had worked Anyway before I even had a chance to turn my engine off up popped the money pixie (if you have been to Wraysbury you know who I mean), as I was handing over my 6 quid Gav arrived, perfect timing. The next hour was spent drinking tea and faffing with kit, I forgot how long it can take if you haven't kited up in a while. Then we were off into the murky water, even though we were some of the first in there was still only about 2m of viz. The plan was to do a lap of the lake for about 30 min, probably more by luck than judgement that is exactly what we did, during our gentle bimble round we managed to find the sunken boats and even the plastic elephant. We had no dramas or kit problems, everything worked fine. I was happy to get back in the water and the side slung pony worked great, Gav was happy with his new wing. The sun had shone all day and England won the rugby, and thanks to Gav I managed to get a long over due dive in. ![]()
