| City of Brisbane SS - on MacD Saturday saw a group of use head down to Newhaven for a dip in the water, this was going to be a low water dive which meant that mini me could join in as it would be inside his JAOW cert depth.
due to arriving late at the harbor, thanks to the Italian white van driver that want to see what its like hitting the central barrier on the M25 at 6am in the morning, we got on board and headed out on MacD.
on arrival at the wreck there where already 2 dive boats on the wreck and they where starting to come up and we nearly chopped one to bits as he had no SMB and was under the boat, lucky for him the vis was very good and the skipper saw a yellow shape under the boat and moved in time.
two groups went in and with mini me diving with my normal buddy as i was taking someone with a less experience. we went in but my buddy had major weight problems and had to return to the boat to put more on, once we started to descend the current was pushing hard and we had to hand over hand down the shot line to the bottom, this was hard work. Once in the wake of the wreck I bagged the shot and sent it up we then set about having a look round, it was at this point that I was worried about the current and making sure that my buddy was ok after a quick look round I got use to send up our blobs and start to drift off, keeping and close eye on my bubby I decided that we should make a early ascent just in case he had a problem holding a stop.
We finished the dive with a bit of up and down on the stop and were picked up by the boat, now normally I make a beeline for big crabs and lobsters so that I can keep her in doors happy, which means I can go diving most weekends, this time I had nothing to show but one of the guys on the boat bagged this
Mini-Me then tells me that he had a reel jam when deploying the blob and he did the right thing and let go. We did try and find it but it was no where to be seen! So there is a crack bottle smb floating around the southeast coast should anyone find it.
