| Newhaven Arm Well, I've finally managed to dive the arm! Less than 1 mile from my house, two years diving and the first time I've dived it, thanks to Daniel Taylor and Paul Burgess We met up at the agreed time of 8.00am this morning and were kitted up and in the water right on time at 8.30. Daniel's other half Marie kindly looked after keys etc and off we went. The visibilty was surprisingly good on the way out, and we saw a good mixture of marine life, some small lobsters, gobies, pollack and other stuff I don't know the name of! We turned at 26 minutes and just as the visibility was starting to go south, as the tide was turning and finished up with a total dive time of 54 minutes. Maximum depth was 8m (not sure where they get 14m from?!) and we followed up with an excellent breakfast at the local greasy spoon. Smashing dive, just right to start the Bank Holiday weekend off ! Thanks guys! ![]()

| Sounds great, wish I could have made it. Question is will you be doing it again before you leave? |

| It is good dive. I certainly wasn't expecting viz around the 5m mark, which is what we had. I think we did see shrimp. I am sure that I remember someone saying as much. The only downside was that it was a bu$%er walking back over the beach with twin 12s. I must buy a single! |

| I remember having one really pleasant dive there. I enjoyed it so much that once we got out I crossed straight over and jumped off the inside of the arm and used the last 35bar having a look there.

| Not done the inside of the arm, is there much to see? |

Having said that, if the swell is too big on the west (normal) side of the wall then I would dive the inside rather than go home having done nothing. I did find a knife some fisherman had dropped, I saw an eel and a couple of cuttlefish but mainly concrete, sand and weed.

| I personally didn't see any shrimps, although Paul mentioned he'd seen them I too was flagging up the beach with a 15L, if I'd had twin 12's on I think I'd still be crawling up that bloody shingle! All in all a very pleasant dive, but not one that I'll do a 120 mile drive for! So if anyone else wants a bimble there then yes I think would join them whilst its still local
