Angry Non Trip Report, Corfu

This could turn into a rant, sorry in advance!

Just got back from a week long family holiday to Arrillas, NW Corfu. Had a great time chilling out, rained a couple of days yada yada yada!

I've been exchanging emails for a few months with a dive company called Dive Easy arranging what I accept was only a very small amount of diving (this was a family holiday and not a diving trip!) Between us we eventually decided that I would do just one days diving with 2 if not 3 dives on the day.

as we were on the West side of the island the dive sites and date were left totally flexible as this side of the island is very prone to wind but it wouldn't cause a problem as they would pick me up either from the "Pier" by boat or in the mini bus if we were going to the East to dive!

It was arranged that they would contact me 2 days prior to the agreed "flexible" date to sort out arangements. I eventually text them at lunchtime the day before to be told by eventual return text that bad weather was forecast for the following day and they would re contact me at 21.30 that night. At 21.30 I got a text which said "Hi, No diving tomorrow" and that was it

The arrangements we had made were totally flexible, they were aware that I could dive any day and at any site, but this text was all I got. No offers of checking the the forecast again for the next day or the next day or the next day etc etc etc!

I accept that it is the end of the season for them but IMHO that does not give them the right to just dismiss a diver. I was told by the Rep that a group of non divers did a Try Dive off Corfu Town the same day i was supposed to dive without any bad weather! We were only 45 mins from there!

I don't know if they are a good company when you actually dive with them but this sort of treatment doesn't instill much confidence!

Had a couple of great days snorkelling with my 9 year old daughter so at least i got a "dive" in. Depth 1.9 mtrs (I had my computer on ) Time about 35 seconds. Wildlife seen, sweet FA !!!!

Mmmm..... I had an experience like that many years ago in Cyprus.

At least you had a good holiday.
You should name and shame them (web site etc), so someone else doesn`t book with them.
No wonder some business`s go bust.
