Wales

Well the day started at 6 am, loaded the car filled the Thermos and off I went to Stretford to meet a Goat, yep you read that correctly a Goat that can drive! So off we went with lovely clear roads and finally met up with Lee's mate Mark in Portmadog. After a lovely brew the kit was set up and taken down to the waters edge at Dorothea. The plan was to drop down, go along and find the tunnel and swim through. The Goat may be able to drive but is pretty pants at navigating we never found the tunnel but the dive gave us the opportunity to have a play and to get wet. In the Goats case very wet as his dry suit became a wet suit OOPS!. Before the next dive the 3 of us went to a shop we had passed that sells outdoor gear so he could buy himself some base layers and some socks.

We then went off to Trefor Pier as apparently high tide was 12.30 according to a certain person who shall remain anonymous. Erm.....it wasnt at 12.30 thats for sure. So a nice veryyyyy long walk down the beach carrying twin 12's, I was so glad to get into deep enough water to take the weight of the twins. What a wonderful dive it is. Due to the tide being out we could only manage 5 metres but plenty crabs to be seen, sea anenomes, star fish, an identified fish and loads of mermaid purses some with young inside.

Thanks Lee and Mark for a right laugh, a good day and for carrying my twins up and down cardiac hill at Dotty.

I've followed the Goat around Anglesey, and I can tell you that he can drive - but it's either at 8mph or 105mph - there is no in-between.

He got the tides wrong - what a shocker; but at least you didn't have to be RNLI'd off the rocks

Carrying your twins? Right my lad, the precedent is set! However, when we go, my twins might well be twin 3's with a strange yellow box in between........

Hiya Martin
Sorry to hear you wasnt able to join us today. You would have felt at home at Dotty today there was probably about 6/7 divers all with yellow boxes on their backs. No rocks big enough at Trefor to be carried off by RNLI thankfully
Re carrying the twins they were real gentlemen and its so nice that the age of chivallry is not yet dead.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it. I can currently get C sharp from my right nostril, the other one is sealed completely.

The gentlemen thing must be referring to Mark, despite his obvious affliction.

Commiserations about tonight by the way.

Gutted about the result I only caught 2nd half but my team played like what landed on the Barnsley managers head before his game with Liverpool. we better play better against Milan midweek.

How was the vis at Trefor? Might try a sneaky trip next week. High tide was 17.23, EasyTide - on-line tidal predictions from the UKHO

I thought the vis was good but apparently they have dived it when it was even better. At a guess I would say 4 metres but it might be worth asking Lee or Mark? I am crap at measuring lengths and distances.
Thanks for the link.

Bloody Hell, no wonder he likes hanging round with you! Maybe 3 inches could be 12?!?!?

Bill,

If you fancy it next week, let me know and I could see you there, I'd be doing a bit of photography.

Martin
