Duke of Buccleugh - 29th Feb 2008

Got out to the "Duke" today on Channel Diver, it's blowing outside as I write this, but the wind didn't pickup until we were safely back in harbour (as f'cast). We got the dive as we were diving on the early slack at about 9:30am. Had expected a bumpy ride back, but was OK, thankfully not a repeat of the trip back from the Moldavia 2 weeks ago.

The viz was good, at 4m - 5m it was better than I'd expected & enough light so you weren't totally relying on your torch. Water temp. was 10C.

Did usual dive, found the stern, did the mid section & holds, then up to the bows. Saw a couple of cuttle fish at the bow area, also rescued a big blue fish that had got stuck in a some netting. Also quite a few good size lobbies (left to live their lives).

Did 47mins on the wreck in the 50 - 57m range, total run time was 117 mins.

A good days diving.

JT

Was a good day's diving, for sure!

Journey back in calmish seas unlike the trip back from the Moldavia two Friday's ago when I felt so sick I couldn't eat my lunch.

9C at depth and a balmy 10C at 5m. Roll on summer, please........

I even had a buddy who behaved himself, didn't piss in his drysuit or complain he was cold.

Vis wasn't bad at all with 4-5m, lots of fish, lobsters, congers and crabs to be seen (and left alone)!

Charliet.
