Great warts and all write up mate, it sounds like quite an experience, although after the pass photo may I suggest that 'Team with faces only a Mother could love' would be more appropriate

Congratulations on your passes.

Safe diving,
Steve

I loved it. It worked well and didnt break, Howard thaught it was fine and didnt notice the diference between the Salvo and the Solus. Janos hated it and thaught it couldent signal properly.

Matt and Patrick thaught our mega powerful torches were stupid and unnessary and they used 10W led's.

Thanks for a very enjoyable and honest read ...... although it didn't sound like a lot of fun for you.

To pick up your point, and I know we had this discussion before you went but I am still surprised you say this, bearing in mind the number of real CCR failures you described.

Congrats.
Mal

I think the RB failures were non catestrophic. Mark#s leak was very small, and probably due to a holed mouthpiece. He did most of the dive (best part of an hour) on his RB. Howard's cell error was diveable, and we sensibly aborted the dive but did not bail. And remember of course that we generally carry more OC bailout gas than an OC cave diver.

I think the damage list was:

1) SPG smashed in transit and replaced on site (Janos)
2) Holed drysuit. Patched badly by Janos one evening (Howard)
3) Holed mouthpiece on rebreather causing small flood and OC bailout (Mark)
4) O-ring going on bailout reg first stage. Replaced with new o-ring (Janos)
5) Replacement o-ring going on bailout reg first stage. Replaced first stage (Janos)
6) Holed wing - replaced (Howard)
7) Minor cell error - aborted dive and replaced (Howard)
8) Very minor cell error. Changed one evening (Janos)
9) Broken inflator hose. Shortened. (Janos)
10) Flooded Scout torch. Another backup borrowed (Janos)
11) Pee valve failure. Clothes peg applied to nose (Janos)

Janos
