The far side of Wastwater

Here's a short vid of the far side of Wastwater, under one of the screes, just to give you an idea of the composition over there.

Q. Why did the razorbill raise her bill?

A. So the sea urchin could see her chin!

So, under the scree, is erm... scree.

Good vid, brownie points for track selection, not a traditional choice.

Yup, looks like it goes all the way to the bottom at 70m . . . I'll blow me 12l to 200 bar next time . . . see if I can get there

I have recently ordered, but not received yet, a diveyak. I was thinking of doing some dives down the lakes. Do you know anywhere down there that I can get a fill? I also purchased a sonar depth finder. I tried it out up at Oban at the weekend and it worked well, and also fitted neatly into BCD pocket.
This is the depth finder Norcross Portable Depth Sounder
but cheaper here Discount FishFinders from JG Technologies

I've fancied that dive for a while but not fancied the swim over to the other side. 1/2 mile across there isn't it?
How deep did you go Colin?

There is possibly a BSAC club locally, who, if you're a member , presumably, given some notice, could sort you out.

Other than that, there's some pages on here somewhere giving the location of 232bar fills ( might be called something like that )

I've plumbed(?) for an EAGLE CUDA 168 FISHFINDER SONAR by lowrance
And when it turns up, I'll have to figure out how to mount it, power it, and get the sensor in the water . . .

Hmmm . . . I wonder if I could tow a side scan behind the kayak

That's why I paddle across in the Kayak Ali (800ish mtrs, I believe )

I've been down to 20, and found a bit of wreckage, opposite the pinnacles, but I don't know what the wreckage is, or how it got there ( and no, it's not the 'Wastwater Bomber' ! )

It's an umbilical, and in this case, the head is pushed through a slit in another cut down hood, so i can us it 'hands-free'
