Epilogue - a long trip back

I'd just like to say a big thankyou to Hazel and Helen for a fantastic week

There was some great diving, especially the Remus and ferritting around in the Dresden.

Needless to say I'm really looking forwards to going back up next month for the Wrecking the Northern Isles trip.

The journey home was a bit of a nightmare - the exhaust let go just South of Inverness and so a call was made to the RAC.

The mechanic came out and took one look at the exhaust and decided that it could not be fixed at the side of the road. It also turned out that Scotland is closed on Saturday afternoon so no garage To top it all off, due to the weight of the dive kit the tow truck could not lift the car!!!

Somewhat later another truck came out and the car was loaded onto that. We headed down to Carlisle, dropping Andy off at Abinton, and transfered to another truck. Driving hours and a restriction of 56mph ment that this was going to be a long journey.

The second truck took me as far as Stafford services - where the recovery guy forgot to tell the next man in the chain that he had dropped me off. So a call to the RAC and 1 1/2 hr later I get picked up and taken to the depot in Birmingham for the final transfer to be taken down to Warminster.

I got home at 07:30 Sunday morning.

You mean like Andy could have been had I not been 30 miles south of Abington when his car gave up the ghost!

    Thumbs up Fab Week

A massive thanks to Hazel and Helen for a cracking weeks diving a very good boat and some very good food you can't beat a bit of lobster champagne and venison.

I think everybody had a good week and a great laugh and we couldn't fault the weather, light winds and some sunshine as well.

I think the highlight of the trip was the Remus dive, weather was perfect and everybody was well up for the dive, i have never seen so may lobsters in my life a big shame no one found the bell or makers plate.......... i think that would of made Hazels year

The accent off the Remus was a bit interesting as i had managed to push the equalizing tubes up the wrist seal on the dry gloves which then gave me Bart simson hands which i could do naff all with on the accent, much to the amusment of Ash

And i would have to agree with Grant that Gloc has some of the smallest hands i have ever seen ........... but then he is only 5 ft 2" tall.

    cracking week Cheers all
