Excel 3 Dover

As the weather is very good this mid week we set out for another dive on Excel 3. Its a nice off-shore 105 single hulled boat. We have 8 divers on board. G Wizz, Criag, Mark, Nevil, roy plumber, cpt D, Debs and me. Its a nice change from Neptune and the skipper has some great marks.
We head over to dungeoness way and dive a Lovely unknown wreck in 35metres and stands up to 25m in parts. This is a big wreck slip into two sections. The the stern is very impressive with its deck gun and huge single prop. The wreck is over on its starboard side the bow has some good swim thru's. Myself, Debs and Cpt Birthday boy dive together and spent most of our time on the bow. After watching Debs Dsmb The Cpt and I continue on and we find the stern which is amazing deploy our dsmb's both wishing we had more time to explore this section of the wreck.

The second dive was another unknown which must be a cargo ship as its every where. Bottles, Pots and jars. The viz is abit shit which makes this perfect for this type of dive. The wreck sits about 34metre and about 4metres proud. I pick up a nice earthen ware bottle with Philips stamped on it. There was tat all over the place. Really enjoyed the dive even afew crabs for tea.

Thanks to the crew for a great day out of Dover and a very well run boat. A shout goes out to fifty fifty diver and Night Diver who were also out today.

Regards Rob

Rob

The earthenware bottle is for ginger beer 1858 -1898, Canadian.

Detailed descriptions of historic Pottery Bottles of Vancouver Island

Apparently they are rare and in mint condition goes for $300-500!
