| Have finally managed to tie my club down to a trip to the Farnes, probably mid September. As I've never done the Farnes before, I'd really appreciate a little help from any of you lucky people who've already been there - can you recommend places to stay, boats to dive from, etc.?? Basically, I'm not sure how it all works up there but we all want to go for the girly seals experience - if someone could give me an outline of the diving up there, or maybe point me in the direction of a website with info, I'd be ultra grateful!! Thanks guys Lesley |

| Imported post I can tell you that Ron who is an expert on the Farnes will recommend skipper Graeme Harrison and his RIB Moby, here's his mobile number 0780 278 5752. THere is a place called Farnes Diving Services http://www.farnedivingservices.co.uk/diving.html Here's some Farnes diving info http://www.dcordes.freeuk.com/farnes.htm And here's a Seahouses community website, this is the typical launch site for the Farnes http://www.seahouses.org/ Struggling to remember the name of the B&B we stayed at in Beadnell (2-3 miles from Seahouses), maybe Gav will be along later and will remember better than I. THere's a guy on the BSAC forum advertising for Seal only Farnes diving but TBH, I spoke to him about it the first time he advertised the idea and didn't like his attitude, I thought there was some kind of a rabbit off, but you could speak to him yourself and make your own mind up http://www.bsacforum.co.uk/forums/ge...osts/3782.html HTH Steve |

| Imported post Hi LesleySS Don't forget, there is a big discount off my book "The Diver's Comprehensive Guide to the Farnes & Holy Island" for YD members. If you are interested drop me a line. It informs you all the best places to swim with seals too. Cheers Ron

| Imported post If you are there the weekend of 19th Sept you'll have a good chance of bumping into some names from these boards too. Myself, Matt Binnie, John Gulliver and Steve W will all be there then, all things permitting. So if I were you I'd book another weekend.....

Will let you know when we're going as it kind of depends on the others in the group (one of them is in Borneo until early September so it's down to finding out exactly when he's free). |
