| Imported post The 130m one is Lochaline although I have it on fairly good authority the wreck is at 130m, from the guy who has the bell off it! The 120m one is in Loch Lomond and is called the Dark Wall, it is not for the faint hearted being very cold, very dark and very peaty, however it is worth doing especially if you are working up depths for practice.

| Imported post We were having compressor problems in the sound of Mull about a year ago and ended up taking air (and tanks as ours were full of sh*tty oil) from Lochaline dive centre After the only dive of the day we were moored up on the logging pier. Bored, we decided (with someones spare computer) to see how deep we could get it using a weight and several reels. We set it all up, a 2lb weight, 3 reels (figuring on hitting the 99.9m mark) and eagerly put it over the side expected to have to keep the reels running for a while. The weight stopped at 13m - we were berthed along side a log ship so we were about 10m away from the quay - we knew about the overhang so next we wanged the weight and computer out a bit. Guess what - it bottomed out at 13m again!! Fun for about 20 minutes and going to prove 130m is not 6 inches from the pier as frequently claimed!! Paul

| Imported post Well I have been at 60m below the pier and it was still dropping, not vertically as people say but not far off. The Lomond wall is more than vertical, when you are standing on the shore you are actually standing on an overhanging shelf over 100m deep........ When you get in the water there is no swim out, the edge of the water is the cliff top and you have to start swimming IN as it drops
