simon,
you won't get any deeper on that dive. the 60m+ dive is supposed to be between norfolk island and silverpoint. if you stand on the shore at stybarrow and look to your left you will see a small island (norfolk island).between that and the far shore it's supposed to be in excess of 60m but i haven't dived it so cannot confirm it. oh by the way if you do try it beware of a strong current which pulls you down

Mark,

Thanks again for the info, I think I'll give the 60m dive a miss, it sounds like a long swim out to it or a ride in a rubber boat. The cliff face is keeping us amused for now. As for the currents I can believe that after doing several drift dives in Coniston, not intentionally I might add.

Cheers

Simon

simon,
sorry wrong info. just been talking to a bloke from my club who knows ullswater well. between stybarrow and norfolk island
there is a 55m hole. the 65m dive is supposed to be somewhere straight out from aira force. don't blame you for not doing them though because there is nothing but lots of silt down there.
all the best
