Unusual dive sites

A few years back I dived a small river in Norfolk at a place called Flatford Mill I think. I would love to do some more of this sort of off the beaten track diving and was just wondering if anyone had an other ideas of places to try.

And if anyone has dived flatford recently I'd like to hear what its like now

There's loads of places no-one has ever dived, just have a wander round the coast and find somewhere miles away from any houses with difficult access!

Something a bit different - the rez sounds good and I fancy getting in there for a play, Swithiland Wood is good, but you need to be a part of a club with insurance you can send to the managers of the site, I did the River Trent which was a remarkably good dive - it was middle of winter and we were diving in the out pipe of the power station and it was toasty warm - plus we found an old railway carriage you couldn't find again if you tried!!!

They have moved it back into Suffolk...people semed to prefer it that way, including some chap called John Constable who was always painting it.

Seriously, I have no idea about diving there but I often ride my horse past the mill and river getting photographed endlessly by the tourists.....

Hey Digger, which part of the Trent was it? I live in Burton, with ''old'' powerstations at either end! Oh,the Rez is best if you want practice at line laying in the dark, brilliant.

me and my o/c buddy dived a storm drain under a duel carrageway after we got stuck after a river dive!! we knew the drain came out in a lake not to far away...you should have seen the fishermans faces when we arrived in the lake

We went in near Wilford Foot bridge. I remember, because that was where we found the railway carriage. No real reason for it being there, until we found out they used to move rolling stock over the bridge there, and it must have come off. It also meant it was probably best part of 100 years old - in remarkable condition with wood slats still in place, probably the thick mud in there keeping it preserved!

We went round the headland kind of bit opposite the footbridge, and had surface support drive all of 2 minutes to come pick us up. We used a plastic 3 litre milk carton as an SMB so they could spot us, but others couldn't. It's banned diving in the Trent without permission, which they won't give you. Just imagine the trouble it would cause with all the knives, guns and mobiles you'd find in there.

Thumbs up

Another vote for The Rez from me too, lots of fun.

There's a vid on my website if you want a sneak preview.

Mark.

Exeter canal was fun. It's full of interesting artifacts.

A while back a couple of guys were in the Thames, drug smuggling I believe, the advice then of the PLA (Port of London Authority) was DONT, apparently the Thames is very tidal, just in case you had given that a thought.
