If you look in the trip reports section there are some reports about diving in the area.

Richard Scarsbrooks site at Dive Sites in Western Norway is a tremendous resource.

I'm a bit excited as I just booked a trip on Gaelic Rose: Diving in Scotland and Norway for next June

I have to agree with Alan, the Richard Scarsbrook site was the one I used when writing my report.

We did our liveaboard on the Gaelic Rose, so can't say what Jane R is like, I know that Spike & Claire DJ dived off her this year in Norway, maybe a pm to them would be an idea.

Alan you will have a marvellous time, Bob (skipper) and Andy (chef-extraordinaire) are a great team and Bob has knowledge and stories to entertain for hours, he also has the information on Richard's site in a folder for your perusal on board! for Gaelic Rose

I dived Norway with Jane R, last year.

Diving is good, viz in June was fantastic. Though, I wish I had done more research on the wrecks we had on offer (easier said than done). for example, the Frrankenweld is a huge wreck, you could spend a week on her. The Ferndale and Parat is more of "scenic" wreck dive.

Boat is good for diving, accomodation is basic. (The boat did sink earier this year) but by all accounts, speaking to people who dived her in 2005 and again in June 2006 you couldn't tell!
Food was pretty good (excluding the porridge). Although, his chef (crew) has since defected to the Gaelic Rose.
Norway very friendly people - The cost of living, which is well documented, is very expensive. (£5 for a beer (inc the ferry), £40-£50 fo a 2 course meal in a "restaurant")

In summary, and my 2ps worth, please take with a pinch of salt. I wish I hadn't gone to Norway, primiarily from a VFM perspective, yes the diving was good but the overall cost of doing a weeks diving (Travel, Food, Fills etc) in Norway was aproximately 2.5 the cost of a weeks diving in SCAPA. Therefore, I wish we had looked at other UK options that we havent dived and probably had if not a better time as we had in Norway.
However, if you have exhausted all your UK options, Norway could be well worth it.
