Day trips from Notts

Hi all

I'm after ideas for shore dive sites which can be done there and back in a day, traveling from Nottm.

The only real criteria is that there something to see apart from pike and the bloody Staingarth !!!!!

We were thinking of Scarborough way but any ideas would be great.

Cheers

Drop Steve S a PM - he does the East coast.

I will eventually make the effort to get my sorry ass over there at some point too, but it does make for a long day

Hi Shineyman,

TBH shore diving around the Yorkshire area isn't really practical, but try this site Dive in the pink. The shore diving web site personally I would boat dive, especially on a mad day mission but if you don't mind driving the sky is the limit I have done St abbs and 3 dives in a day, and Portland and 2 dives again in a day.

HTH

Safe diving,
Steve

You've obviously forgotten the Trent. A delighful dive, warm in the winter (if you dive outside Radcliffe on Soar power station) and spectacular viz. When I say spectacular, I mean spectacularly bad, obviously.

Personally I think you're pushing it to do any of the coast from Notts in a day. It's not safe to drive 3 hours, go diving a couple of times, and drive for 3 hours again. Just stay the night, it costs less than a tenner at most campsites, and you'll get in twice as much diving and not fell nearly as cack afterwards!

Digs.

Another one that's barking

Digger, does the viz in the Trent include or exclude goose-shit?

Shineyman - make the most of the weekend, that's what gets my vote

Its been years since the last time I fell in the trent but if I sniff really hard I'm sure I can still smell it.

Or may be it just me...

Hmmm... Ratcliffe dives at Ratcliffe ? That would bring me full circle, thats for sure! Thats where I worked when I learnt to dive, and of course is where the internet nickname comes from, but only The Hopper of Space knew that before...., something to do with his industry!
