Horsea Island Dive Centre - 'e-petition'

    In the hope to get Horsea reopened to civilian divers an 'e-petition' has been set up;

Petition to: Consider the re-opening of Horsea Island Dive Centre, Portsmouth, to the general public.

Currently the e-petition stands at 33 however if 200 Signatures is not reached their is a good chance that a response from government will not be achieved.

I therefore would like the support of the YD masses to assist.

It takes no longer the a minute to sign.

Once again the web site is Petition to: Consider the re-opening of Horsea Island Dive Centre, Portsmouth, to the general public.

    Thank you all in advance.

    Luke

I did my drysuit there, was an eye opener, great facility close to home.

So now you can claim INTERnational support.

Come on people. There is a core of at least 300 that post on here regularly,
so why isnt there at least that many on this list????????

Ok so you dont use Horsea, but then a lot of your fellow divers do, so
stop reading this and click on this link.

Petition to: Consider the re-opening of Horsea Island Dive Centre, Portsmouth, to the general public.

Just reached 70 and that's pitiful considering the numbers that use it.
I'll be working on my entire club to sign, so why not do the same with yours?

    DO IT NOW.

    Petition for Horsea Island

    http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Horsea-Diving/

Please go to the link above to sign the petition

I am sure that it has not escaped your notice that Horsea Island has now closed to the public. This is obviously a huge blow to the diving community, not only to the businesses that rely on the lake for training and income, but also to the hundreds of people each year, both individuals and clubs, who use the facility, for fun and training.

It is possible that this decision can be turned around through concerted effort at the right level. So if you feel slightly miffed, as I do, that the decision was made without consultation and without any due consideration as to the impact on the local diving community and diving businesses across the South of England, please write to your MP and ask him/her to raise the issue with the Secretary of State at the MOD, or alternatively sign this partition.
