My name now added... did my OW there.

I too am surprised at the lack of interest in this. I can only think that there are so many of these e-petition things going around, and from the ones I've signed, it doesn't seem to change many decisions, that people don't bother.

I try to steer clear of expressing my opinions openly on here, but Andy, I think in this instance, your opinions as to why you won't sign may well have been better kept to yourself.

Oh, and I signed the wages petition at your request.

This was my first thought too. I think it's highly unlikely that Horsea will be opened to the public again now, but if everyone who has ever trained there signs, it will at least show that there is demand for such facilities.

Yes, that person is a diver and i will get my laptop back lunch time , so no more posts like that.

However, the only part I did agree with was that I don't dive in fresh water .

    Sorry for the confusion.

Just signed it for what its worth (which isn't very much in my personal opinion) but you have to support the people making an effort and its better than doing nothing. Oh and I used to dive there too!

As for the lack of interest and having just read the entire thread I blame that on lack of visibility of the post having only just seen it myself.

It strikes me that withdrawing public access to a diver training facility as important as Horsea is not in the interest of public safety at sea.

Maybe you can find someone official to wite an objection on behalf of the Coast Guard service.

Signed.. my first dive in 17 years was in the murky depths of Horsea last September.

The mix of salt and freshwater is great for bouyancy when you are used to diving in fresh water and it was a very safe re-introduction to the sea.

Also the jelly fish were cute.

    Matt,

I'm willing to do that for you....... But also, how about contacting one of your local Diving Liaison Officer's at Solent. I'm sure he may help.

    Thanks Andy.

I am really not sure if we can get the decision reviewed but if we do nothing at all then it definitely will not be.

Well it's now upto 350 and just to point out again that this petition
has a lot more going for it then what you read on the site.

There are other moves going on behind the scenes and having an official
marker showing strength of opinion is of value.

So please support your fellow divers and add your name to this petition.
