| Weighting my camera case As some of you know, I’ve bought myself a new camera. The case is a WP-DC30 and I need some kind of weight system to avoid what happened to my last year…camera and case floating away!!! Any ideas?

| Hiya Kate, Why don't you attach it to yourself? I have mine on a lanyard (brass clip vice plastic), of the coiled variety and with an added clip to stop it from hanging, it cost about £17. Not too much when compared to losing your camera me finks, plus it's easier to let it hang when you want to hang in the blue and relax and just watch everything go by :-) Hope that this helps.. Yep this is what I use as well (Obviously mine is in manly black They are quite strong, I had to drop my video camera once and it ended up bobbing around on the end of it's leash about 4ft below me. Daz

| I had my camera weighted but ended up agreeing with Steve (note to self, don't make a habit of this) that it was safer without so it would float up rather than fall down if detatched. As said above get a decent lanyard or thingymabob like fiona posted. jules

| I do have it attached to a coiled lanyard, but my camera last year was also attached to a lanyard (a retractable one) and I managed to loose that. I have a feeling that it floated to the surface and disappeared. I’m just worried that I’ll end up loosing another camera (and throwing another wobbler)

| Kate Stop panicking, the curley ones are more than adequate. The retractable ones are poor in comparison. Just make sure one end is securely attached to a d ring on your BC and you won't have a problem. ![]() |

| Agree with Fiona The curly ones are really, really, really strong. Make sure you get one with very good (big) stainless or brass clips on the end (Not plastic). As long as you clip it on somewhere secure like a D-ring it should not go amiss. Totally understand your concerns but the retractable lanyards are just not very secure in my experience. Daz
