It is however clear that municiple swimming pools have a duty of care to youngsters and as such, within their child protection policy require you to register your name, address etc before using a stills or video camera on their premises.

It may seem a bit OTT, then again there are some real weido's about...

Ig uess if you've found a better more accomodating club, the whole experience has been worth while!
We quite happily signed the councils little piece of paper with promises of only using each other as subjects.

We have, for now, decided not to bother with clubs as we had previously qualified with PADI quite a few years previously, and continue to dive with each other and a friend who is a BSAC instructor.

Unhappy

We had to get a committee member to sign something at the local pool we use at the BSAC Try dive week. That was for the club news letter.

Problem was that most of the committee members were in the pool with try divers.

All this beaurocracy but in the end there are cameras on phones that can easily be used used in changing rooms, something I would have thought is of greater concern.

Exactly Chris! - you have hit the nail right on the head! - COVERT use of cameras is something that definately needs action on.

I think we are hardly going to do anything suspect with a couple of SB105's or twin 50W halogens hanging from our housings are we?

When i was training one of the guys had a camera and we had a great session pulling stupid faces underwater for him. I do recall one tale where someones strobe was malfunctioning and managed to give everyone in the pool a shock hehehe.
