| Superimpose...How? I picked up Adobe Photoshop 7 last week, so I´m still finding my way around. This is where I need some help. Our new diving club has decided to have photographic ID cards. I have several background shots of U/W scenes, I have also lots of member head and shoulder shots. I need to remove the members picture from their background, which is white, and then superimpose the members head and shoulders onto one of the scenic backgrounds. I know Adobe will allow you do this, but I´m too thick to fathom it out. What I need is an easy walk through, step by step...please help. Pete. |

| eeeeasy! use magic wand tool and click on the white backround. It will select it. Then go to Select on the menu bar at the top and choose Inverse. It will now invert the selection and choose the head. Copy and paste into your scenic thingy. If the head's too big, or small for your scenic img hit Control and T, which will allow you to free transform the head by clicking and dragging the corner of the selection. Holding down the shift key whilst doing this will retaing the proportions of the head. bear in mind that the pasted head is now a new layer sitting on top of your image and you can move it around as much as you want. when ur done u can merge the layers into one by hitting control and e (or going to Layer on the top menu bar and choosing merge down) U can then save as jpg. HTH oh, just a thing. the magic wand tool sometimes doesnt do a 'clean' selection and so when you inverse u may end up with a few rogue pixels. when u paste into your scenic img u can use the eraser tool to get rid of them easily without affecting the bottom layer, which is the scenic img.
