Hello,

As a new digital camera owner, what is the difference between an XD memory and CF memory? Which one you think is best? I need it for a 5060Z, and where is cheapest?

I always get memory from www.ebuyer.co.uk as they are normally the cheapest "retailer" (as opposed to anything from Ebay) and you can get some pretty good bargains. If you get the "Ebuyer" brand, you normally end up with some other branded name which Ebuyer are just shipping as their own.

Pierre, Generally CF is cheaper as its mae by so many companies. Xd is only sold by Fuji and Oly and consequently more expensive. However, the great thing about the Oly 5050 and 5060 is that you don't need to make an either / or decision - use both.

If you're going for CF then you should be able to get 1Gb jobs really cheap. I use the XD card for shooting and then copy over to the CF card between shoots to free up space on the xd (which seems faster than my CF card and so it is so 'shooting' card). With the lastest fast CF cards you shouldn't have this problem - and be able to use either card for shooting.
