Alan James Photography ...
http://www.erb.org.uk/ajphoto/used.php

has a secondhand housing at only 89 quid - pressure tested - for the Fuji F700.

I have two friends who use this camera and some of the results are fantastic.
Myself I have a Sony DSC P120 which i'm still learning to get to grips with, although some of the results so far have been quite impressive. It's probably too new a model to be available cheap 2nd hand, but beware of some of the earlier sony cybershot models as you may not be able to find housings to fit. I'd second what others have said and say find one which has a housing available. You WILL want to use it underwater!

My good lady is kind enough to lend me her Canon Ixus 400 whenever I want to take it diving (however if I lose/break it I have to buy her a newer more expensive model...). Had it's debut in Egypt last year and the results were pretty good. Not only can you take photos but it also has movie mode which is pretty cool. You can record for as long as there is memory on your stick. Digital depot is good. That is where I got my housing and a spare stick. 7 day shop are also very good value.
