Nikon or Sony?

After my Oly 5060 flooded in the Red Sea I've now got the insurance cheque banked and am keen to buy the next camera and housing. I liked the 5060 camera and housing but have lost confidence in it after the flooding incident.

So I'm looking at either a Nikon Coolpix 7900 with WP-CP4 housing package or a Sony DSC-W7 and MPK-WA package.

Any thoughts or advice on these choices would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian

Try www.bigbluesquid.com ( Mike Thompson ), I was talking to him recently and he mentioned he had some deals on Nikon`s not sure what types - sorry.

OR buy an olympus 7070 like mine, great camera.

I personally love Sony MPK housings. I've just upgraded to the P150 as my wide angle MMII lense can be used with it.

My main reason for loving Sony is that they use 2 o-rings in their housings (one is user maintainable & replacable) and from experience forgetting the user replacable one does not mean the housing floods (at least down to 35m anyway.
