Occy in the mouth
I have noticed that just about every diver portrait I see by a professional photographer - the subject has thier occy in thier mouth - not thier primary

any explanation?

You are going by colour?

My singles reg set has two black Scubapro regs and my Twinset has two yellow faced Apeks ones. If I'm on the rebreather the black reg is the pony and ready for you to use and the yellow is pure oxygen and will kill you as soon as look at you so it is capped off and valved.

Maybe you know something I don't.

Yeah - was thumbing through a few dive books full of pretty pictures last night - lonely planet dive guide to the Maldives and the Debelius book - and noticed that virtually all portrait shots the subject had a yellow reg in mouth

I suppose it does stand out better and maybe that's the reason

With my limited fidling with underwater shots in photoshop I have noticed that if you have some yellow in the foreground the 'magic' AUTO-LEVEL function works a treat

I guess professionals can use this as they take the photy.

OR, it's just coincidence.
